For more than a thousand years, man has known how to use distillation as a means of concentrating aromas.
In essence, the design of the distillation plants has changed little until modern times.
The materials used and the processing of these are, in addition to the knowledge of the distiller, the basis for the production of high-quality alcoholic beverages.
In 2017 we started looking for a still that could meet these special requirements. We found what we were looking for in an undoubtedly extraordinary place.
In the JVA Kapfenburg (a prison) we found a hand-hammered still, perfect for the desired AAGIN distillation in the historic boiler house and after its acquisition had it lovingly refurbished and modernized by the traditional company Carl.
We distill slowly and gently in this 150 liter copper still. The aromas are swirled intensely in a unique way by the hand-hammered surface of the still and allow even the finest aromas to be released.
Today it is the heart of our AAGIN manufacture.
